Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor, popular for his roles in popular television show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. In college, he began to pursue a passion for acting. While at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. He has been in TV and films, however it was his small-screen characters which earned him fame and an extensive audience. He is able to play two characters, one from the perspective of the police and the different. That's what has made him so popular. He played the serial killer role in the first TV show he appeared in and later played the role as an NYPD detective. In recognition of his performance in the small screen, he's been up for nomination numerous times for the prestigious Emmy Awards. His most attractive facial feature is said to be his piercing blue eyes, which are considered to be a trademark and help in portraying the rough and savage characters with a sense of humour. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
